Persistence based on Merriam-Webster dictionary, means 1 : existing for a long or longer than usual time or continuously: such as a : retained beyond the usual period b : continuing without change in function or structure and more.
Persistence is to continue to go with unwavering faith and dedication…
It was not easy establishing a viable and reliable business, what's more, an etiquette business. I pondered whether or not it would be a feasible or profitable business since people were unfamiliar with the art and most believed it would not work. Nonetheless, I knew this was what God desired for me to do and it is my purpose, so I needed to just go for it. I knew if God told me to do it, He would make a way.
From the Inside Out School of Etiquette was established in 2014. By the grace of God, we have survived the pandemic thus far and so many other seasons. I am so very happy I made the decision to obey God's whisper to establish my etiquette business. It has been blessed and a blessing.
Persistence is something I want to share with you because being persistent made me who I am today and has taken me to the place where I am professionally and personally. I never stopped believing that it was possible through God. He continues to use me (and others), to fulfill my purpose.
I offer masterclasseses, a best selling book-TRANSFORMATIVE ETIQUETTE, an etiquette cafe of online classes, DVDs and downloads. I have dedicated employees and almost 1M followers internationally on our social media pages and channels who I positively influence. I also help to transform the lives of children and adults daily through my in-person and virtual classes, as well as my consistent video postings on social media. Persistence kept me going through every failure, even not fully-booked class, the pandemic, and through countless negative energy and disappointments, even after losing my mom. I rested a bit to process that enormous loss. When I felt strong enough, I resumed my position because I knew she would not wish for me to fail or quit.
Persistence is how you shine through every challenge. You just never stop! You give your all every single time until you are content and the mission is complete.
I would like to share with you one of my favorite quotes, it is, “Success is not the absence of failure; it's the persistence through failure.” by Aisha Tyler. And this is how we should be in life. I know there will be many failures, and heartbreaking moments. However, all of these circumstances, just like everything else, never last. The world will keep on turning with or without you. That’s why we have to be persistent and become the best version of ourselves. Communicate with your Creator to know your purpose and once it is revealed, walk in it because I sure am and I am completely fulfilled. I desire fulfillment for you as well.
We will not live forever, however, I assure you that in the grand scheme of things, even if there are 10 billion people on earth, what we do is significant! Do not let the world dim your lights, always shine brighter and keep going. Leave a legacy that will live way beyond your physical existence. If you don't remember anything else, please remember this. "Your purpose is attached to someone's destiny." If you don't intentionally seek your purpose, you fail someone who is relying on you to play your role in their development. The interesting thing is, you will perhaps never know who they are. That alone tells you that your purpose is not only about you.
So, I would like to cheer you up and motivate you to persistently pursue your dreams until you achieve them. Don't give up! You owe it to yourself! You deserve it!
